Photography & Image-Making / Photography Practice
A dual degree offered by Goldsmiths, University of London and Paris College of Art
This innovative, 2-year program allows students to gain two graduate degrees plus a unique international perspective by spending time in two major European cities: London and Paris. Upon successful completion of the program, students will obtain an MFA in Photography & Image-Making from Paris College of Art and an MA in Photography Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London.
In the first year, students will enroll at Paris College of Art where they undertake coursework on research methods, portfolio development, and image-making practice. In a curriculum that combines hands-on, practical studios and critical theory, students will gain a strong understanding of how to place their own artistic practice in the appropriate conceptual and historical context. Through work with a variety of platforms and tools, students will become well-versed in the transdisciplinary nature of photography & image-making and able to produce high-quality projects involving still-images, video, and multimedia.
In the second year, students will enroll at Goldsmiths, where they will continue building on the foundation obtained at PCA. Courses focus on technical precision and creative exploration, as participants gain autonomy in risk-taking and image construction in preparation for their final portfolio project. At Goldsmiths, students have access to high-end digital cameras, printing capacities for multiple formats, and dedicated spaces for developing and showcasing their work.
At the end of the program, students will have two graduate-level degrees and the credentials necessary to apply to artistic residencies and PhD programs. For those looking to enter the professional world, graduates will be well-prepared for fields as diverse as advertising, commercial photography, video & multimedia production, web design, curating or gallery management. Furthermore, as the MFA is a terminal degree, graduates will have the knowledge and credentials to teach in higher education and continuing education programs.

In this MFA program, you will:
- Spend your first year in Paris, focusing on digital lab studio work, research methods, and contemporary issues in the field. Paris is widely considered the world capital of photography, and this primacy remains firmly established thanks to the presence of internationally renowned institutions and museums (MEP – Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Jeu De Paume, Le Bal, Fondation HCB and many others), an unparalleled cultural offering, a vibrant scene of dedicated galleries, and the Paris Photo Fair, undoubtedly the most anticipated event of the year. All of this creates an exceptional learning environment with which the photography department regularly interacts.
- Spend your second year in London, working on your final project and completing coursework related to image development and processing. Goldsmiths has strong connections with the local artistic community, so students will have regular opportunities to participate in major events, such as the Peckham24 photography festival.

Transdisciplinary New Media / Computational Arts

This innovative, 2-year program allows students to gain two MFA degrees and a unique international perspective by spending time in two major European cities: London and Paris.
During the first year, students enroll in the Transdisciplinary New Media program at Paris College of Art, where they will explore the intersections of technology, new media, and the arts. Coursework covers research methods, digital media, and creative practice through an interdisciplinary lens. Students can expect to collaborate with peers from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds, experimenting with different technologies, tools, and working methods, to gain a deep appreciation for the concept of collaborative creativity.
In the second year, students enroll in the Computational Arts program at Goldsmiths, University of London. Building on the foundation obtained at PCA, students will deepen their understanding of the socio-political impact of new technologies in artistic domains and choose from a wide range of electives focused on creative technologies. The masterclass series complements your academic preparation and allows you to interact with world-class artistic professionals, exposing you to a variety of perspectives as you complete your final MFA project.
By the end of the program, graduates are prepared not only for artistic careers, but also for professional roles in software development, web design, game development, digitial fabrication and creative technologies. They graduate as adaptable, transdisciplinary professionals capable of bridging creative thinking with applied technological practice across industries. Babson College - Graduate Admissions Pathway
A facilitated admissions procedure for students looking to earn a graduate degree in business following their PCA studies!
We are thrilled to announce a new articulation agreement between Paris College of Art and Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, USA. Students in their final year at Paris College of Art as well as students who have already graduated with a PCA degree are eligible for a special admissions procedure in one of Babson College’s competitive business programs.
Eligible PCA students and alums can apply for the Master of Science programs in Finance, Business Analytics, or Management, as well as the Master of Business Administration or the Certificate of Advanced Management. Applicants will receive an application fee waiver, PCA-specific information sessions, and guidance from a designated admissions specialist. Admitted students will receive a minimum 20% scholarship.
This agreement provides an unparalleled opportunity for students who want to complement their studio art background with a rigorous preparation in business or finance from one of America’s premier business schools. Babson is known for its hands-on approach to education with dynamic faculty who are experts in their fields. Your coursework will feature experiential learning, ensuring you will be well-prepared for the job market upon graduation. What are the pre-requisites?
Applicants need to meet the undergraduate admissions criteria at Paris College of Art and the graduate admissions criteria at Babson College and need to secure a student visa (if relevant) before the start of classes. Both institutions require students to demonstrate English language proficiency.
Am I guaranteed admissions into a graduate program if I successfully complete a PCA degree?
Students who successfully complete a BFA program at PCA, and who meet the entry requirements for Babson’s graduate programs will be considered for admission. Final admissions decisions are made by Babson College.
When should I apply to a Babson program?
Students can apply during their senior year at PCA or any time after their BFA graduation. You must apply by the Babson College deadlines.
Can I take a gap year between my PCA degree and applying to Babson?
Yes, starting your Babson degree with some professional experience after your BFA is an excellent idea and could strengthen your application.
What is the tuition rate for this dual degree?
Students enroll directly at each institution (PCA for undergraduate studies and Babson College for graduate studies) and pay the relevant tuition fee directly to the institution that they enroll at. Current PCA tuition fees are published on our website.
What degree will I earn?
At the end of the two programs, you will have a BFA from Paris College of Art, and an MS, MBA or graduate certificate from Babson.
What job prospects will I have at the end of my degree program?
This joint degree program makes you a strong candidate in a variety of creative fields. Ultimately, your job prospects will depend on what area of concentration you choose, but generally, students with a solid background in business & the arts are well-prepared for marketing roles, gallery management positions, entrepreneurship, artistic directors, and event coordination.
