MA Fashion Film & Photography Collaboration with Etnia House of Arts

A few snapshots marking the first step in a collaboration with Etnia House of Arts, a new cultural platform dedicated to artistic experimentation, dialogue, and contemporary creativity.
The collaboration began with a workshop with the students of the MA Fashion Film & Photography, where they were introduced to the possibilities of developing their own artistic ideas in collaboration with “Moi Aussi”, a creative project that brings together artists from all over the world to make a study of a pair of glasses through artistic expression.
Over the year, these initial ideas continued to evolve, allowing the students to develop them into individual projects and bodies of work. It has been especially rewarding to see how an idea that began in the classroom could grow into a fully realized artistic project.
Based on their artworks and creative development, two students, Luise Leber and Tóna Fritsdóttir, were selected for a one-week art residency at the recently restored Chiesa dell’Abbazia della Misericordia, Etnia House of Arts’ space in Venice.
The residency program brings together international artists to create a piece of art starting from a unique and unusual canvas: a pair of glasses. Etnia House of Arts gives the creative spirit that has always lived inside the Etnia Barcelona brand a physical space, opening it up to artists and audiences from around the world.
In Venice, Etnia Barcelona is not simply supporting art. It is creating a place for it to happen — a new home for ideas, experimentation and unexpected connections.
