PCA x FRAC collaboration renewed for 2024
Paris College of Art (PCA) is excited to announce that we are pursuing our creative partnership with FRAC Île-de-France for the upcoming solo exhibition of renowned artist Ėglė Budvytytė, titled “Warm Blooded and Earthbound.” This collaborative project, part of PCA’s “The Artist Book” course, will result in a unique artist book available for public consultation during the exhibition, which will take place at Le Plateau from September 26, 2024, to February 23, 2025.
Ėglė Budvytytė’s exhibition “Warm Blooded and Earthbound” will take place from September 26, 2024, to February 23, 2025 at FRAC’s main exhibition space, “Le Plateau.”
PCA students will take part in four sessions between September and December 2024, culminating in a final presentation where they will showcase the artist book they created to the FRAC team.
The Artist Book: A Unique Contribution to the Exhibition
Students part of this course will apply their knowledge of bookmaking, narrative design, and risography to produce a document that complements and responds to Budvytytė’s exhibition. This resulting artist book will be on display at Le Plateau throughout the exhibition, offering visitors an intimate reflection on the show’s themes through the lens of the next generation of artists.
This collaboration between PCA and FRAC Île-de-France highlights the innovative educational practices of PCA and emphasizes its commitment to creating opportunities for students to contribute to the contemporary art scene in meaningful ways.
FRAC Île-de-France (Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain Île-de-France) is one of 23 regional contemporary art collections established across France. Its primary mission is to support, acquire, and promote contemporary art by building a public collection of artworks and organizing exhibitions, public programs, and educational initiatives.
FRAC Île-de-France focuses on making contemporary art accessible to a wide audience, not only through its permanent collection but also through its exhibitions at venues like Le Plateau and the Château de Rentilly. It actively collaborates with artists, art institutions, and educational institutions like Paris College of Art to foster creativity and cultural exchange.
