Provost Michael Meere at the 2024 NECHE Annual Meeting

PCA Provost Michael Meere attended the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) annual meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, in December 2024 to participate on a roundtable panel on the topic “AI in Higher Education: Strategies, Opportunities, and Challenges.” Participants on the panel addressed questions related to a variety of aspects of artificial intelligence, ranging from finance, administration, and policy to navigating this new technology at the student, faculty, and curricular levels. Provost Meere focused on how PCA and other art and design colleges are trying to harness and implement artificial intelligence across the curriculum, while trying to balance ethical concerns related to the environment, intellectual property rights, and longstanding as well as emerging creative industries.
